One of the 10 year olds in The Handbrake's class came up to her the other day to explain why he'd decorated his homework with Egyptian hieroglyphics. Turns out he worships the Goddess Isis - in fact he's a priest.
According to the Egyptology online website, ' Her most famous temple is Philae near Aswan, but she was also widely worshipped universally, with cult centres at Dendera and
Byblos in Syria-Palestine' - and Bundaberg. Nice to see he's picked Isis, Goddess of Life, Love, Motherhood, Fertility and that sort of stuff. Most kids today would probably pick Seth, God of Chaos and Confusion.
I must confess it bought a smile to my face but here's one child who has a fertile imagination and is probably much more widely read than a lot of his classmates. He'll go far, hopefully.
