My Virgin Blue flight out of Townsville was about 20 minutes late this morning - more than late enough to make the scheduled 3/4 hour connection time start to look a bit doubtful. And of course they dumped us as far away as they possibly could from my connecting gate. Luckily the bag came off fairly quickly and I made a dash for the Qantaslink counter. The dopey pratt (yawning away and really not doing his job) on the security x-ray obviously didn't notice my aerosol can of shaving foam and so I made it to the check-in counter barely 2 minutes before everyone trooped off across the tarmac to the aircraft.
I ended up sat next to a young (early 30s - it's all relative) businessman involved in land developments and real estate. As we were heading in to land at Bundy he said "What's Bundaberg famous for ?" It may not be obvious to those of you who aren't from around these parts but most Aussies really wouldn't need to ask that question. A rather sheltered life I imagine and certainly not a rum drinker.
