Early on in our exploration of the markets we chanced upon this beautiful bowl of wooden fruit, each piece turned from left-over chunks of Tasmanian timber. The pieces have somehow been stained and varnished and are really quite beautiful to look at. I was intrigued by them and the Handbrake was so impressed that a collection of six assorted pieces became our official trip souvenir. Timber products and fruit sum up much of the Tasmanian economy as well. Of course, then we had to buy a turned wooden bowl to put it all in, a nice blackwood piece, very attractive.
